About Sobertown
Sobertown is a growing community of like-minded people in recovery helping others start or maintain their sobriety.
We refer to ourselves as “Sober Warriors” because the fight against addiction is a grisly battle that takes no prisoners. Real people die every day from complications and repercussions of long-term alcohol use, a tragic end that is 100% preventable through increased awareness and connection.
Alcohol is so pervasive and normalized in our culture that it often gets a free pass into our lives when it’s really a cancer-causing drug that can slowly wreak havoc on all states of our well-being: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, environmental, vocational, and intellectual.
But we’re not here simply to shine a light on alcohol’s ugly side.
We’re forming a village of sober individuals from all walks of life that share a common goal - to support others in recovery while also increasing the dialogue around the many positive aspects of sobriety versus the darkness of addiction.

Todd is a self described introvert. In the first 9 months of meeting him on the I Am Sober platform he only posted 3 times and you'd rarely see a comment from him. But when it comes to having a passion for Sobriety, Todd is a Powerhouse with an amazing mind and mindset! His Blogs (Sober Toolbox, Sobriety Discussions, Your Body On Booze) are full of research, facts and explanations that are unique and amazing! Todd is also narrating his blogs to share on the Sobertown Podcast, eventually you'll be able to hear them all as you read! That's a double dose of learning! Boooom!!

Normally I like to keep these segments around 30 minutes. But this was a really serious discussion with Jo11 concerning her struggles recently in her sober journey and I just didn't want to stop. Jo11 is fighting several battles at once. Obviously her addiction, then accepting where she's at in her journey, battling self esteem and then hormones on top of everything else.

Molly is a 33yo CT-scan technologist in Florida. Despite her younger age she has a long career in both her professional and drinking life, and is a survivor of both domestic violence and sexual assault. She is a huge nerd and will zone out on a good video game or spend time at conventions just as much as she’d love going camping or being outdoors. She is currently thrilled to be sober and is building her future for her fiancé and her dog... and she will not drink with you today!

Born and raised Texan living in Austin. I’m 42... work in women’s healthcare, married to the man I met at 17, with an 11 year old son. A the time of this episode, I’m just past the 222 milestone in my sobriety and 365 days doesn’t seem nearly as far away as it used to! I’m excited to hit that one.
I’ve found, in my sobriety efforts, that drinking was a byproduct of a whole lot more going on in my life as well as traumas and negative experiences that have shaped my life and why I became an alcoholic. Now I’m on a path of self discovery.... a very difficult path... but I’m open to trying anything and collecting tools in both sobriety and my mental health a long the way.
I’m an advocate for women. I enjoy mentoring young women. Pre-pandemic I worked with the Girl Empowerment Network which I’m hoping to get involved with again.
